With a passion for horse and dog training, Mackenzie’s animals are a huge part of her life. When the time came to book senior portraits, she knew she wanted to incorporate her two dogs and three horses into the photo session.
Incorporating animals into photos is no simple task. We’re working with live creatures who have no concept of what we’re doing or why. As a photographer, my eyes and brain are working to help you feel relaxed and look natural, while using the tips and tricks I’ve built up over time to get your horses attention and snap “the shot” for the millisecond second we have it!
When Mackenzie reached out, I was super excited and totally up for the challenge. With a solid plan of action and Mackenzie’s trust to let me guide her, we were able to capture beautiful images of such a special time in her life.

For Mackenzie’s senior portraits, we designed an album book to mark this milestone in her life. When creating art, my goal is for you to have something to hold and share that reminds you how you felt in that moment. My hope for Mackenzie is that she’ll be able to flip through the pages and remember the impact that her animals had on her during her high school years. I hope that each image can evoke the emotions she felt at this time in her life – the love for each of her horses and dogs, and her passion for training.
